Hate List #4475
- How
today in thrift stores you will find the same people who 2 years ago
would have been disgusted at the thought of shopping there
- Costco books (and the people who read them)
- how 14 year olds have the nerve to call themselves "musical elitists"
- how suburban/small town children claim to be "hipsters" (or even think themselves above them!)
- how anyone can call San Jose a real city (what kind of city has a downtown that is only 3 blocks long?)
- cars that stop over the pedestrian line, or turn without looking at you as you are walking across the street
- ghetto kids that try to sound smart/deep in class
- adolescent "poetry" (go read some Yeats, you illiterate dumbfucks)
- how I can't go to a show without a greasy, fat 14 year old jumping and rubbing against me
- people who get offended easily (if you're offended, then what I'm saying must have a hint of the truth)
- when stupid people are breeding
Anno gets her GED

I
took the GED on Saturday at the Berkeley Adult School, from 8 am until 4 pm. I was the only white person among 6 black
people. I liked how all the answers were already given in the
question, and that all the wrong answers were "obviously" wrong. I also
liked how in the reading comprehension section all the "hard" words
were defined in brackets.
The essay question was to write about a character in a movie or book
that impacted you. I wrote about Jude Fawley (Jude the Obscure).
Go figure!
sample question:
Greenhouse gases are bad for the environment because they cause global warming.
Why are greenhouses bad for the environment?
a)Causes the earth to heat up abnormally
b)Releases oxygen back to the atmosphere
c)Causes the slow disappearance of Earth's atmosphere by gas diffusing into space
d)Greenhouse gases will form a new species which will destroy earth
Yes, this is for real.
Another sample question from the web:
What is the purpose of recycling?
Other important things to know before taking the GED:
- the heart is an organ
- "they ball" is incorrect; "their ball" is
- carbon monoxide is deadly
- the immune system isn't an age-related disease
- water is a liquid
- "small" means "little"
Needless to say, it offended what miniscule intelligence I have, and made me feel like the one-eyed king among the blind.
Oh well, it brightened up my day in the end to see a crazy old man
wearing a bright red sweatsuit, red Converse and a bright yellow
feather boa waving and dancing to cars at the intersection of
University and San Pablo.
In other news, I spent nearly an hour at Comic Relief. Shannon
Wheeler did some illustrations for the latest Cometbus; how neat is
that?
I also quite found possibly the greatest Herb Alpert record ever.
And lastly, Asil and I watched National Lampoon's Vacation to prepare
us for our D-Land trip. Okay, okay, we just watched it to check
out the mom's breasts.
I love you, Asil. Thank you for the Doraemon candy.
Everyone who doesn't hate me, should.
